Relational Leadership Training
For leaders, managers and professionals responsible for supporting others.
Through reflective, psychologically informed training, leaders are supported to explore how they communicate, how they respond under pressure and how their presence influences the people around them.
By strengthening the relational side of leadership, organisations can create healthier working environments, improve communication, support retention and help people feel more connected and confident at work.

The Initial Programme
Training is delivered directly to leaders, either as a standalone workshop or as part of a wider programme where organisations choose to build additional training over time.
Sessions are practical, reflective and psychologically informed. Leaders are encouraged to explore how they communicate, respond under pressure and influence the people around them. The focus is on strengthening self-awareness, relational intelligence and more effective leadership within everyday workplace situations.
All training is delivered by Helen Jordan and can be delivered with a single leader or a group of leaders who are managing different departments.

Who is this for?
This training is designed for people who are holding responsibility, leading others or working within complex team environments. It helps leaders develop the awareness and practical skills needed to respond with greater clarity, confidence and emotional maturity.
Who does it benefit?
This training benefits the entire team. Once the leader is able to identify areas of self-improvement and becomes more confident in strengthening relationships, workplace satisfaction increases along with productivity, idea sharing, communication and overall workplace retention.
Meet Helen Jordan
I developed this programme after 10 years of working therapeutically with individuals and noticing how often people’s distress was connected to workplace relationships. The same relational patterns and themes appeared repeatedly and were often preventable through greater awareness, communication and relational understanding.
I worked with clients affected by team tension, difficult communication, feeling undervalued, overworked or close to leaving roles they once cared about. At the same time, leaders were experiencing significant pressure as they managed responsibility, decision-making and complex team dynamics, often without the relational understanding or reflective space needed to support themselves or others effectively.

Questions that start to shift perspective
Relational leadership looks beyond tasks, targets and systems, and asks what is happening between people.
How is trust being built or broken?
How are people communicating when they’re under pressure?
What is being avoided?
Where do patterns keep repeating?
How does leadership behaviour shape the wider team dynamic?
“This shift in understanding changed the way I communicate with my team and make decisions. I now feel more confident and my team are happier!”

Following a consultation, a bespoke proposal can be developed to support meaningful and sustainable change across leaders, teams or wider organisational systems.

-
Yes. Leadership can feel especially pressured when team dynamics, communication challenges or conflict are affecting the way people work together.
Relational Leadership Training supports leaders to better understand what may be happening beneath the surface, recognise patterns within workplace relationships and respond with greater clarity, confidence and emotional awareness.
-
Yes. This training can be helpful when communication feels difficult, trust has been affected or patterns of tension, avoidance or conflict are showing up within a team.
The training focuses on supporting leaders first, helping them understand the relational dynamics at play and develop more thoughtful, confident ways of responding. When leaders are better equipped, this can positively influence the wider team emotional culture.
-
Healthy team dynamics can have a significant impact on how people communicate, collaborate and perform at work.
When trust, communication and relational awareness improve, teams are often better able to work through challenges, make decisions, reduce repeated misunderstandings and stay more engaged. This can support productivity, retention, workplace wellbeing and the overall quality of work.
-
Relational Leadership Training offers structured training packages, rather than a fully bespoke organisational development programme. However, the training is designed to be relevant to real workplace situations and can support leaders to reflect on the dynamics they are currently experiencing.
For organisations needing more tailored support across a specific team or wider workplace issue, Develop Within’s Bespoke Relational Development Package may be more suitable.
